Harold Ford, Jr. is the thirty-three year old representitive from Tennessee's 9th District in the U. S. House of Representitives. He gave the keynote address at the 2000 Democratic National Convention and in all respects looks to be the new Democratic Golden Boy. Here's his recent
Washington Post piece on creating a nation of stockholders, one child at a time. I've read about a similar program implemented by Melody Hobson, CEO of Ariel Mutual Funds, in the Ariel Community School in Chicago, and I really liked the idea--I'm glad to see that politicians are also interested in the idea.
